The Conference of Young Linguists in Dialogue, YLD2011

Young Linguists in Dialogue is an annual student conference. This year’s meeting will be held at the University of Wrocław (Poland). The main goal of the Conference of Young Linguistics in Dialogue is to ensure a good communication between students of various linguistic fields and from different linguistic traditions and environments, thus offering them a much broader perspective and a more objective and balanced overview of the field.

The 4th Conference of Young Linguists in Dialogue held in the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław on: May 14th-15th, 2011 organized by Students Scientific Group for English (in cooperation with Students’ Scientific Group for Generative Linguistics ‘X-bar’) and also will be  under the auspices of the Center for General and Comparative Linguistics of Wrocław University, Poland. 

M.A. and Ph.D. students, elected, will make presentations in the following disciplines:

  •  Theoretical linguistics (cognitive and generative)
  •  Applied linguistics (translation studies, language acquisition and learning)
  •  Neurolinguistics
  •  Psycholinguistics
  •  Computational linguistics
  •  Historical linguistics

Apart from the presentations, the conference will include:

  •  Lectures by invited speakers: Prof. Bożena Rozwadowska and Prof. Leszek Berezowski
  •  Workshops.

In the conference, I am going to present my research called ‘Focus in Turkish‘, which is about the Information Structure (IS) of Turkish language within comparative analysis of some other languages.
